About this event

Are you looking for new ways to inspire and engage children and young people with science?

The resources explore philosophy of science topics and promote thinking and discussion around science. They feature philosophical questions and accompanying facilitation techniques to easily use them in classrooms or in extra-curricular sessions. They were created by local teachers and academics at the University of Bristol.

These resources are intended to support science teaching in: Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Working Scientifically.

Teachers tell us that using the Thinking Science resources can:

• Improve engagement of students who do not normally engage in science

• Highlight misconceptions and gaps in knowledge

• Improve students’ literacy and scientific literacy

The CPD session will include interactive examples of philosophical discussions, creative facilitation techniques and practical advice for integrating the approaches into workshops.
